Lily Andrews doesn't hide her love for her religion or for teaching at St. Mark's United Methodist Church. She doesn't hide her sexuality or her marriage to Jeanine Perry. She is open, as is her church, considered one of the most welcoming to gay congregants in the Sacramento area.

Lily Andrews, holding her camel puppet, leads children in prayer during a St. Mark's service.

After the weekly potluck for gay church members at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, above, Lily Andrews and her partner, Jeanine Perry, right, say goodbye to Steven Edwards, left, and his partner, David Perez.

Andrews and Perry, who are married, attend a concert at the church. Andrews is the Christian education director for St. Mark's.

Lily Andrews' daughter, Emily Perry, 16, sits between Andrews and partner Jeanine Perry during the GLBTI potluck at the church. Children of gay couples make up a third of the kids in Sunday school.
